Metamorphosis Animation

In my class of G.T our last project was Metamorphis, our theme was prom. In our group were Mia, Claudia, and I. Our projet was about a girl who goes from a tom boy to a girly girl she

gets ready for prom with her hair, make-up, dress, etc she goes outside and waits for her date but he never comes so she gets sad and starts to take down her hair but then she sees her friend rose riding on a bike, rose and her end up going to prom together. The animations we used were stop motion, flip book, and stykz. Our focus statement was prom strengthens friendship and our videos really shows the friendship strengthening. Our results came out really good most of our scores were above and beyond. I think i did really good we each put the same amount of time and effort into this project and it came out really good, we even won our school a $50 gift card to amazon from the movie festival. So in my opinion we were pretty great actually.

Words of Wisdom

Our team chose to interview Jack Leonard at Kauai Gymnastics Academy because he had really interesting stories of him teachimg, and he has taught a olympic gymnast. Jack Leonard also puts all of his hard work and helping into his job and students. In my opinion we couod have cut out some of the people in the background because it was a little bit distracting, and there was some background noise such as wind and big trucks, so that could have been fixed but overall I think we did really good.

Five Tips for Preventing Injuries

Our team and I chose the topic Preventing Injuries because as you can see a lot of people play sports or they just play outside and some people get injured including Mia Claudia, and I, and some of these people don't know how to prevent them from hapening or how to fix what was hurt. So we made our video "Five Tips for Preventing  Injuries" to prevent people from getting injured. In our project I think our sound quality could have been better. We had a lot of wind in the background and there was a fly in one part of the video so we could of refilmed that part because it was a little distracting.

Practice Profile Story

The purpose of our practice story was to show how I love dancing and how I started in different places, then ended up here at aloha dance studio. This project also really helped us see how we will handle our actual project and how much time and effort we need to put into it.

We chose me and my story about dancing because it was an interesting and entertaining sucject to talk about and we thought that the viewers would enjoy listening and watching it. We also got to experience how it would feel if you got interviewed, and the effort it takes to do b-roll. This was also a really fun subject to do.

Profile Project Progress

In our G.T. project we are interviewing Mias gymnastic coach Jack Leonard. In the process we interviewed him and got some b-roll. We got this footage at Kauai Gymnasics Academy. It is a great place to go to because the gym is open so the parent can come and watch, and the gymnast get some air. We chose Jack Leonard because he has an amazing background, he has taught an olympic gymnast. And he has some great stories, and he really puts his emotions into his stories.

While we were getting footage we had to get B-Roll and Voice Overs. These things are kind of hard to do, When you are doing b-roll you don't want camera movement, and when you are doing Voice Overs you dont want any noise in the background. This is very hard because if you are right in the middle of an interview and a loud car comes by or a phone rings, then you'll have to start that part over. That goes for b-roll if you have A LOT of camera movement then you'll have to get it again and again until you get it right.

Our team can be better if we work together and take responsibility for our own actions and get an equal amount of work to do. We could have probably done b-roll a little bit better so we did a second day of b-roll and that really helped because we had some camera movement when we did b-roll the first time, but over all we are working pretty good together.

In our group we need some improvement. We need to get actual sequencing instead of doing our own sequence in final cut pro. We need to get footage that has no camera movement, and we need some more b-roll. We will go back to kauai gymnastics academy and refilm what needs to be refilmed

Composition Techniques

Composition Techniques is what makes a video worth watching. The four main types of composition techniques are unusual angles, leading lines, rule of thirds, and framing. When you use unusual angles it gives the video or picture a unique look, and it catches the viewers attention. Leading lines also adds creativity into the picture or video because your not just making a video or taking a picture your adding creativity in it. Rule of thirds is a basic thing that should use whenever you take a video or picture it makes the video look better and its a great composition to use. Lastly is framing, framing is when you use your surrounding to come up with a frame it again gives the picture/video a unique shot.

Three Shot sequence

A three shot sequence is a short explanation of an action or story in a few pictures and a little bit of writing to make the sequencing complete. Sequencing is pretty easy if you know how to work a camera. When you do sequencing you have to have a wide shot a medium shot and then a close up. For example if you were playing soccer you would get the soccer player and the ball in the wide shot, then you would get the person kicking the ball in a medium shot, lastly you would get the ball going into the goal in a close up. Sequencing is important for a story to have because its better then looking at the same shot while your watching something. Its would get kind of boring to look at one shot, and it wouldn't catch the viewers eye. But if you have sequencing then you know that the viewers will be amazed and want to watch more.

Practice Story Reflection

In our G.T class we did a practice story. We had to get into teams of three, our team was Mia, Claudia, and I. We had to decide which person was going to be interviewed. During our class the decision was made, and they chose me to be the interviewee. Our story was called Gabby likes dancing.

During the process they recorded me doing the interview, I messed up a couple times and we had some tough times finishing the interview but we got it done. Once we finished the interview we went on to doing b-roll. B-roll is when you have an interview going on in the background while you have footage of that same person doing what they are talking about in the interview. During our b-roll I messed up A LOT and at some parts I didn't know what to do. Everybody was kind of stressing out about that part, but we got it done.

After all of the filming was done and we got all of the clips that we needed we went onto editing. During our editing process we had some arguments on who was going to do the transcript paper and who was going to edit the film and we had only like 5 days to get all of this done, but the hard thing was that a person in our team was gone for two days so we had to do some of the stuff with two people so it made our team struggle at some times, but in the end we got it all done and turned it in.

Polar Panoramas

Here are two completed Polar panoramas that I created in my G.T class. I took 10-15 pictures in a 360 degree rotation which I overlapped just a little bit. Then I edited the images using Adobe Camera Raw. After that I compiled them into a panorama using Photoshop PhotoMerge plugin.

Next the rectangular 360 degree panorama was resized to be square and filtered with the polar coordinates. Then I flipped it upside down. Lastly, the final Polar panoramas were selected using the eliptical marque tool and feathered by refining the edges. Then a white or black background was selected before we turned in our final project.

I used a digital camera to take multiple pictures of my chose of location, then batch-edited their images using Adobe Camera Raw. Next i added all my photos into photoshop.
